I waited over 4 months for my local repair shop to get the part and they ended up with the wrong one.The Walbro LMK carburetor may be equipped with an anti-afterfire solenoid 3, yellow in place of the fuel bowl retaining screw. It also may have an idle adjustment limiter cap 3, green. The green wire provides an electrical ground for the solenoid. When the engine is shut down the spark is disabled and the engine coasts to a stop.
While the engine is coasting, fuel is still being drawn in from the carb, and the unburned fuel continues out to the hot muffler where it may explode loudly. The anti-afterfire solenoid 4 stops fuel flow into the engine as soon as the keyswitch is turned off. The plunger or pintle is extended by a spring and retracts when supplied with 12 volts positive at the wire terminal and the casing is grounded.
The main jet is pressed into the side of the center pedestal 5. Its removal is not recommended or necessary unless a high-altitude jet is being installed. The main fuel emulsion tube and the pickup tube for the idle circuit are pressed into place and removal should not be attempted 6. The float should rest parallel to the carb body when inverted. The float height is not adjustable. The float hinge rod slides out either side 7 and the float with inlet needle can be lifted out.
When the fuel in the fuel bowl rises, the float pushes the needle against the inlet seat slowing fuel flow. Inspect the inlet needle for corrosion and damage or wear to the rubber tip 8.
The inlet valve seat is pressed into place and removal is not recommended. The choke plate is prevented from going past wide open by a stop pin 9, red. An idle air bleed hole is shown at 9, blue. There is another hole directly opposite the one seen.

How Do I Tell If the Starter Solenoid Is Bad on My Kohler Riding Mower Engine?
Community Member List. Forum Actions Mark Forums Read. Quick Links View Forum Leaders. Kohler cv15s fuel solenoid - maybe. Thread Tools. I have a riding mower with a Kohler CV15S engine. The engine starts OK but after about 10 minutes it looses power and stops.
The mower is sitting awhile before it starts leaking gas out the bottom of the carb. I Notice that the float sits a lot lower now after installing this new kit.
Did i purchase the wrong one? Okay, i think it may of been the bowl ring because it wasn't fitting snug so i put the old one back on. I poured gas through where the fuel line connects to the side of the carb using dropper until it started running out of that hole i was pouring the gas through until a little bit to make sure it was full and i sit it in a jar so it would stay sitting up and jet i have an no call leaking out yet. Didn't leak for several hours so i stuck the crab back on. Few mins later fuel started dripping down from bottom of the bowl.
It looks like its coming around the fuel solenoid gasket. This is the new gasket that came with the kit. When i had the carb on the bench and put gas in the carb through the inlet where the fuel line connects, would the bowl still fill with gas or does the bowl only fill with gas when the fuel solenoid is open?
If the bowl can still fill with gas when the solenoid is closed, it should have still leaked if the gasket wasn't sealing right? Could it possibly be the fuel solenoid itself leaking? Because the casing on the fuel solenoid is lose not the fuel solenoid itself and i can turn it with my hand back and forwards. If i take the fuel solenoid off and wipe it down than screw it back on, i can leave it several hours and it will not leak at all.
But as soon as i turn the key on than back off, a min later it will start dripping gas, and it will drain the tank if i don't crimp the fuel line. Anyone have an idea what could be going on? So I am out of practice a bit The problem is this Seems like a fuel delivery problem, as, you can keep it running for a short time longer when it starts, if you put it to full choke.
Then after about 5 more seconds, it just dies all together. The warmer it is, the more often it does it. Here is what it is NOT: It is NOT carb has been cleaned and rebuilt, I found a spot for a welch plug that was not installed, but you know how carb kits are for several models so I left it out as I found it Has a new fuel filter, the in tank filter is fine and cleaned.
The fuel pump is clean and in great shape, seems to work well. Or some sort of electrical condition that once warm, and resistance goes up is causing problems Messages: 2, That welch plug wasn't missing. They don't use one. Hook an aux fuel tank to the carb to isolate fuel supply from engine.
See if that helps. I don't agree with you gkt expansion theory. And you don't know, at this point, if it's the carb or not. Messages: Could be considerd a stupid question BUT assuming this is an air cooled unit are the 'fins' clean and free of blockage?
